Some Internet Service Providers (ISP) or hosting companies may tell you that you have to transfer registrars in order to change the DNS information and utilize their services. This is not true – you can retain Network Solutions as your registrar while using domain name servers from any hosting or ISP company.


Changing your DNS information is the process of changing where the domain name resolves or points to on the Internet. This can be completed using Account Manager. For more information, review the article How To Transfer A Domain Name To Another Provider’s DNS Server.


Note A domain name registration transfer is only required for a transfer between Account Holders (Registrants). You do not need to transfer your domain name registration to complete any changes to the domain name record.
