I have been with websites and hosting for well over a year now but i am not sure how upgrading to a better hosting package/dedicated server works. Not that i'm planning on uppgrading or anything, i just want to know the facts incase i''ll need to, in general terms, how long does it take for the upgrade to complete? is the time frame same if you are just moving to a better hosting package and moving to a dedicated server? or does it differ?

will i have to upload my files again and recreate the databases or will that be done automatically? and again explain for upgrade to better hosting package and server.

I use godaddy by the way.
